Road Safety Week commences nation-wide

Careless Driving Guelph
Waterloo Region’s Road Safety Week Poster

Police are out in full force this week on a road safety blitz. Canada Road Safety Week takes place from May 13 to May 19.

This year, the Road Safety Week is focusing on impaired driving, seat belt infractions, and distracted driving. Watch out for these traffic stops and know what to do when you get pulled over. Here are some tips for knowing what to do when those lights start flashing.

Waterloo Regional Police are asking you to drive sober and alert, buckle up, don’t be distracted, and obey the posted speed limits.

Although seatbelt tickets and cellphone tickets are relatively minor infractions, they can still negatively affect your insurance. Careless driving will have a serious impact or even dropped insurance. If you land yourself an impaired driving charge, you will be looking at a criminal record.

Remember, you are not guilty of the offence until you plead guilty. Whenever you get a ticket, it is your best option to get some free information on what you are facing and what to do about it.

Don’t let a traffic ticket scare you, call us or visit us in our office in Guelph to find out what we can do for you.
